Sleep Medicine Associates is a team of multidisciplinary physician specialists, advanced nurse practitioners, physician assistants and highly trained sleep technologists. The group provides consultation and treatment for a variety of adult and pediatric sleep problems and disorders, including:
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) Therapy
CPAP is the leading therapy for sleep apnea. Patients wear a face or nasal mask during sleep. The mask, connected to a pump, provides a positive flow of air into the nasal passages in order to keep the airway open. A sleep therapy specialist who solely focuses on the unique needs of patients with sleep apnea teaches patients how to use CPAP equipment effectively to improve the quality of their sleep and waketime.
Specialized Services For Cardiovascular Patients
Studies show there is a link between sleep disorders and the risk of heart and vascular disease. We offer education, clinical follow–up, and a certified sleep medicine specialist who serves as the sleep liaison between the patient and cardiologist.
Women’s Services
Nearly two–thirds of women do not get proper sleep. The changing hormone levels that accompany menstruation, pregnancy and menopause can wreak havoc with normal, healthy sleep and interfere with work, family responsibilities and relationships. We can help address the special sleep issues that are unique to women at every stage of life.
Medical Weight Management
We offer specialized services for obese people whose sleep disorders may benefit from even moderate weight loss.
Ongoing Support
Regularly scheduled support groups and special educational workshops provide patients and medical professionals with the information and encouragement they need to better manage sleep problems.
Clinical Research and Protocols
As a clinical research site, we are continuously involved in research studies focusing on new medications, treatments and devices, and are able to offer patients access to the latest treatments before they are widely available.
